On 17 October 2025, the official kick-off meeting of the IMPETUS project took place in Gdańsk, Poland. The full-day meeting was used to allow all project partners to get to know each other within the new project team. In short presentations, all project partners introduced themselves and their role in IMPETUS. An INTERREG employee reported on the funding framework and conditions, and in the second part of the meeting, the project schedule and further plans were discussed.
The aim of the project is to develop various highly efficient vertical axis wind turbines with teams of students from the South Baltic region and to measure their prototypes in a wind tunnel. Details were presented in a technical project presentation. Topics included methodology, specifications and strategies for turbine control, the fabrication facilities (FabLab) required for prototype construction and their equipment requirements, knowledge transfer and training programmes within the project, as well as the recruitment and coordination of student teams. Project partners from Poland, Lithuania, Sweden and Germany took part.
