The first public event on municipal heat planning in Teterow took place yesterday in the training room of the volunteer fire department. A total of 27 interested citizens took part in the event. The aim of the meeting was to inform the public about the ongoing preparation of the municipal heat plan and to give all interested parties the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions.
Arvid Langenbach presented the methodological principles of municipal heating planning and explained how the IWEN Energy Institute is supporting the city of Teterow in developing a sustainable and future-proof heating concept.
During the event, the background and objectives of heat planning were explained: IWEN is developing a municipal heat plan for the Bergring town of Teterow, which is intended to create a reliable basis for the future heat supply. The focus is on issues such as heating options when replacing heating systems, options for a district heating connection and the designation of new district heating areas. The planning is based on the Federal Climate Protection Act and aims to become climate-neutral by 2045 at the latest. IWEN is also working closely with Stadtwerke Teterow and other local stakeholders.
