Interreg South Baltic project "IMPETUS"

As part of the IMPETUS project, a cross-border competition is being organised for university students to design and build full-scale prototypes of vertical-axis wind turbines. In two phases, student groups will develop and construct different turbine concepts. Following the testing of the models in a wind tunnel at the University of Gdańsk, the various solutions will be analysed. The aim is to enable students to engage in comprehensive, interdisciplinary work on a wind power project.

The project budget amounts to €1.99 million and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021–2027.

  • Duration: 2025–2028
  • Lead partner: Institute of Fluid Mechanics, Polish Academy of Sciences
  • Consortium: 7 partners from Poland, Germany, Lithuania and Sweden
