The topic of sustainability and climate neutrality is also playing an important role for more and more companies. To counteract climate change and global warming, companies need to become climate neutral. The vast amounts of CO2 emitted by huge factories and companies remain in the atmosphere. The only way to protect the climate and slow down the pace of change is by finding quick solutions and converting the industry. However, the transformation of companies towards climate neutrality not only has a positive effect on the climate - the transformation also brings added value for the company itself: sustainability, cost reduction and customer loyalty can be combined.
Sustainable management for people, the environment and the region - DMK Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH has also set itself this goal and commissioned the IWEN Energy Institute to prepare a potential study on the transformation of its energy supply.
As a first step, the current energy supply, including a greenhouse gas balance, will be presented and examined in detail. Building on this, the study will examine how the site's energy supply can be transformed towards climate neutrality in the future. The key objectives are to achieve a CO2 reduction of at least 40% by 2032 within 10 years and greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045 in the long term. Finally, an action plan for the transformation of the Altentreptow complex site will be derived from these studies. This plan should be economical, comply with the legal framework (StromNEV ยง19, Carbon-Leakage-VO, Energy Financing Act, Energy Efficiency Act, etc.) and be technically feasible.
