The wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy plans to analyse the loads on the tower of a prototype wind turbine. In order to validate the simulation, a complete and accurate measurement analysis must be carried out and the result compared with the simulation.
Within the framework of this project, our institute was commissioned to carry out the measurements for this study. The measurement system, including accelerometer and strain gauge sensors, data acquisition system, UPS power supply and laptop, was installed in the tower of a wind turbine SWT-DD-142 of the company WIND-projekt in June 2020. The recorded data is retrieved via an LTE modem connected to the measurement system and then post-processed and synchronised with the SCADA data for further analysis and comparison with the simulation.
